World Book Day

World Book Day is an annual event observed globally on 23 April. This is probably one of the most important days in the literary world so that books may be honoured and remain relevant even in the digital world we live in today.

To observe this day means to raise awareness about the importance of reading and enjoying books. To make it fun, most schools had children dress up in their favourite book characters and the children loved it. The art of book reading should start at a very early stage, as soon as a child gets aware of phonetics. Kids should be taught how read so that they may have a bright future in their academic life.

Parents should be encouraged to take an extra mile to teach their children at home even when the kids are taught at school. This support enhances their learning and reading journey. Reading is fun when one understands and that is the main point, reading to understand.

To help with reading in our public schools, please donate children’s books and help one child at a time because world book day should be every day.
